About the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)
Since 1947, the Council on International Educational Exchange, known as CIEE and formerly, Council, has been in pursuit of its mission, "to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world."
CIEE has 118 university-level study programs in 40 host countries; teach abroad programs in Chile, China, South Korea, Spain and Thailand; High School Abroad programs in nine host countries; and Gap Year Abroad programs in seven host countries.
International Voluntary Service Activities
CIEE Teach Abroad sends over 300 volunteer teachers annually to Spain, Chile, China, and Thailand. These teachers contribute to the mission of CIEE by expanding both students' and participants' knowledge, in both practical fields and cultural applications. Teaching assignments are available in primary, secondary, and post secondary schools mainly teaching English language and culture.

Participants are college graduates ranging in age from 21 to 62. Basic requirements include being a native English speaker, bachelor's degree holder, and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and culture with others.
Time commitments are available for four months to one year.
